6 Fabrics to Consider for Pet Owners

By owning pets, you not only give shelter to your pets or get a feel of having a new friend but also your pet contributes a lot to your physical and mental health. Research states that most of the people who suffer from chronic diseases have a substantial improvement in their condition after owning pets. Pet owners also tend to have low cholesterol and blood pressure as compared to non-pet owners. Being a pet owner, keeping your furniture clean can be a daunting task. Three to four scratches from the claws of your dog or cat is enough to spoil the beauty of your new sofa set. Here are some furniture fabrics for pet owners that will look elegant indoors and will also allow you to share your couch with your pets without any worries;

Leather Fabric:

Leather is a furniture fabrics for pet owners as it is easy to clean and any stain or spills can be wiped off. Note that not all leather types are the same. Some can withstand animals while some cannot. Top-grain leather is one of the best leather types due to its thickness which allows it not to crack as other types.

Woven Fabric:

Woven Fabric can be a great choice if you own pets. Fabrics with visual texture or patterns can be considered. I would rather recommend a woven printed or patterned fabric than going for a plain one since the pet hair would be less noticeable until you clean your fabric.

Synthetic Fabric:

While purchasing new a couch or sofa set, you may want to consider pet-friendly furniture. Synthetic Fabric is a good choice since it doesn’t scratch easily plus it is extremely easy to clean and can stand for a long time with everyday wear and tear. You should consider fabrics with high nylon material or polyester and acrylic. The best advantage of opting for synthetic fabric is that it can be easily cleaned with a micro-fiber cloth and the pet hair can be removed with the help of lint brush, pet sponge or even by using tape.

Velvet Fabric:

Being a pet owner, you should choose a couch that blocks odors. Velvet fabric serves the purpose well. It not only prevents odors but also can resist scratches and tears. Velvet fabric is also easy to clean.

Denim Fabric:

Well, Denim fabric is best suited for a casual living room. Denim fabrics are extremely easy to clean, mild soap and water are enough to remove the toughest stains. The tight weave of this informal fabric doesn’t allow any pet hair to stick.

Outdoor Fabric:

Outdoor fabrics are best for pet owners since they not only repel moisture and are stain proof but also defend bacteria. Simply bring in outdoor furniture to indoors or purchase a new piece of furniture.

Now you can share your couch with your pets without any worries!

Things to remember:

Always remember to look for something with tight weave while choosing pet-friendly furniture. Dark colors and patterned fabric would help you hide pet hair until the time you clean.
