12 Budget-Friendly DIY Décor Tips

We all wish now and again to transform our home into a space that looks extraordinary, luxurious and that gives us the warmth of a home. However, this process might require you to put extreme efforts and might cost you a fortune. These few DIY décor changes can make your home look beautiful without straining your muscles or going broke. We’ve compiled 12 budget-friendly DIY décor tips because there isn’t any excuse for living in a space that doesn’t feel like a home.

So, Let’s go for it;

Start with wall décor:

The best way to have a home makeover is to fill in that empty walls which otherwise looks dull and boring. All you need to do is add a series or grid of white frames with black and white pictures displayed.

Place a mirror:

If you already have a mirror in your home which is not much in use, then you can position it opposite to the window which will not only bring natural light to the room but also will bring some greenery and instantly will make your room look bigger.

Area Rugs will give your room a modern feel:

Add a large area rug that will give an instant modern feel to your room. Remember to place all your living room furniture on the top of area rug but if that isn’t possible, you can simply place the front legs of the furniture on the rug. There are many inexpensive area rugs in the market that you can look for.

Change your old cushions:

Redecorate your couch by replacing your old cushions with new ones that either have more bright colors or neutral colors. You may also try using different textures or mix and match different patterns. What I would recommend is having cushions that have some great empowered words printed on them. If you wish to add your own favorite quotes to the cushion you can always customize them.

Paint your walls:

Add life to walls by painting them with either clean bold stripes or you can try adding some bold or calm colors to your walls. Research shows that light to mid-tone shades will make your room look larger and reflect light. Wall colors also reflect your mood. I prefer light colors because it makes me feel peaceful and relaxed.

Light Fixtures:

Upgrade your lighting fixtures in all parts of your room may it be your ceiling lights, floor lights or table lights.

Give your lampshades a new look:

Give your lampshades a completely new look by purchasing inexpensive paper shades which are easily available in the market and paint it red or any other color of your choice.

Create DIY centerpiece

Insert your candle in an old jam jar adding some glitter inside and decorating it from outside by painting it in gold color or any other color of your choice. Thus, creating a beautiful centerpiece. You may also repurpose vintage teacup that may not be in your use into a candleholder.

Update your bathroom:

Usually, people spend a lot to upgrade their bathrooms but there is absolutely no need to spend a large sum. Your bathroom can look great simply by purchasing new towels and by replacing your shower curtain and bath mat.

Transform your side table into a bar cart:

Dream of having a bar cart? Save your hard-earned money with this simple trick. You can easily turn a side table into a bar cart by placing a bucket of ice, glasses and liquors of your choice on it.

Indoor garden:

A home looks incomplete without an indoor garden. Start an indoor garden by planting some herbs on your windowsill. Research shows that plants not only improve our air quality by filtering out toxins that get trapped indoors but also keeps human mental health stronger and increases our productivity levels.

Create a beautiful vase out of sequins:

If you have a dress or maybe any old decorative piece with sequins, you are almost there. Just embed the sequins creatively on the vase or just sprinkle those sequins on the flowers. There you have your cool centerpiece ready in front of you!
